Magic in Your Hands: Close-Up Magic Workshop
Magic in Your Hands
Close-Up Magic Workshop
Discover how impossible moments can be created with ordinary objects, attention, and practiced hands.
Magic that happens only centimeters away
Close-up magic is different from stage magic. There are no giant boxes, smoke machines, or big illusions. It happens right in front of you, with simple objects and small movements that somehow become impossible.
In this workshop, the basics of close-up magic will be explored step by step: sleight of hand, misdirection, timing, attention, and the quiet confidence behind a good reveal.
You do not need previous experience, and you do not need to be a performer. Just come curious and ready to try something new.
What is close-up magic?
Close-up magic is magic performed at short distance, often with cards, coins, small objects, or things already around you. The effect feels personal because it happens in someone’s hands, on a table, or directly in front of their eyes.
This workshop is not about becoming a stage magician overnight. It is about learning how wonder is created: how attention is guided, how timing changes perception, and how a simple object can become part of a surprising moment.
The focus is practical, relaxed, and beginner-friendly. You will get the chance to watch, understand, practice, repeat, and ask questions.
More than just tricks
Most people think magic is only about secrets. In reality, the secret is usually only one small part.
A good close-up effect also depends on presentation, rhythm, eye contact, confidence, and knowing where people’s attention goes. That is what makes magic interesting: it sits somewhere between skill, psychology, and storytelling.
During the workshop, these ideas will be introduced through simple routines and exercises you can continue practicing afterwards.
The psychology behind the impossible
One of the most fascinating parts of magic is not only how the trick works, but why the brain accepts the impossible for a moment.
You will explore how misdirection, expectation, timing, and memory shape what people believe they saw. Without removing the wonder, the workshop gives you a first look behind the structure of an illusion.
