STAY2GROW Football Tournament 2026

This one is not only about the trophy

On Saturday, 26 September 2026, the STAY2GROW project brings students, university staff, local companies, city administrations, clubs and volunteers together for a football tournament at SV Alemannia Kamp.

The format is simple: teams play 5 against 5 on half a pitch. You do not need club experience, and you do not need to be a highly competitive player.

What matters most is team spirit, fairness, movement and having a good day together.

What is the STAY2GROW Football Tournament?

The tournament is designed as a meeting point between people who may otherwise pass each other without ever really speaking: students, employees, companies, local associations and people active across the wir4 cities.

Football becomes the common language for the afternoon. Teams compete, but the wider goal is to create new encounters, strengthen regional connections and enjoy a fair sporting event together.

Whether your team is ambitious or simply wants to take part, there is space for both.

Who can participate?

• Students and employees of Hochschule Rhein-Waal
• Employees of companies based in Moers, Kamp-Lintfort, Rheinberg and Neukirchen-Vluyn
• Employees of the municipal administrations in the wir4 cities
• Volunteers and members of charitable, cultural and sports associations from the region

Players must be 18 or older. Children are welcome to attend as spectators.

• A friendly format where previous club experience is not required

Come with a team, leave with more connections

A tournament like this works because people arrive with different backgrounds but share the same pitch for a few hours.

You may come as colleagues, classmates, club members or friends. By the end of the afternoon, you will probably have met several people you would not otherwise have crossed paths with.

That is the STAY2GROW part of the day: creating reasons for people to stay connected to the region and to one another.
