Ride the Cable: Waterski & Wakeboarding

One of those things you should try at least once

The University Sports team heads to Xanten few times each year for waterskiing and wakeboarding.

There is a reason this trip keeps returning.
A few hours on the lake, a lot of attempts, and that moment when you finally stay up long enough to enjoy the ride.

Expect water, and a proper summer evening outside.

What happens on the water?

You are pulled across the lake by a cable system while using either waterskis or a wakeboard.

The first attempts may be short. Then the movement starts making sense. Getting back up and trying again is part of the day.

Wetsuits, waterskis and wakeboards are available on site, so the essential equipment is already covered.

What to expect

• Waterskiing or wakeboarding at Xantener Südsee
• Wetsuits provided on site
• Waterskis and wakeboards provided
• Two hours on the water
• A summer evening with other HSRW students and participants
• Plenty of attempts, falls and chances to improve

Before you book

This is a water-sports event and the requirements matter.

• Good swimming skills are required;
  just that you can float and simply move around .. but you will be given a life jacket anyway
• You should have no health concerns that would make participation unsafe
• Bring a towel
• Bring swimwear to wear underneath the wetsuit
• Most importantly: Bring good vibes

Why we are sharing it

Some of the best student memories begin with something you almost did not try.

This is not about being good at wakeboarding before you arrive. It is about getting onto the water, making the attempt, and having a story afterwards.
