Two years of Study & Chill

We Turned Two πŸŽ‚

Two years ago, Study & Chill began as an idea, an almost-empty room, and the hope that student life could feel warmer, easier to enter, and more alive.

Look Back With Us

The first year proved people would come. The second year showed what that community could become.

What the Second Year Became

This year was not one single event. It was a collection of weekly rituals, ambitious trips, creative experiments, campus traditions, new collaborations, and small moments that made it easier for people to find their way in.

A Weekly Home

The Tuesday Lounge remained the place people could return to: to talk, play, listen, meet someone new, or simply spend time without needing a special reason.

Across Cities and Borders

Zaandam and Amsterdam, Bruges and Brussels, Goslar and the Harz, Paris, and Disneyland showed how far a student-led community could travel together.

Students Became Creators

Podcast production, sewing, photography, music, magic, performance, and creative workshops made the Lounge a place where students did more than attend. They started things.

Beyond the Lounge Room

STAY2GROW, Students Meet Economy, Seeds of Science, and Klingerhuf connected the community with new places, institutions, partners, and possibilities beyond campus.

A Few Moments We Will Carry With Us

These are only a few highlights. The full Lounge story cannot be summarised on one page, and many of its most important moments were never part of an official programme.

21 July 2026

Seeds of Science

A European premiere at Astra Theater and another step toward connecting student life with cultural spaces beyond the campus.

The Ordinary Tuesdays Mattered Too

Not every important moment needed a coach, a stage, or a programme. Sometimes it was one ordinary Tuesday: someone arriving alone, joining a table, picking up a guitar, watching a magic trick, or staying longer than they originally planned.

On 7 July, the Tuesday Lounge, Magic in Your Hands, and a Guitar Hangout all shared the same evening. That may be one of the clearest pictures of what the Lounge had become: not one activity, but a space where several small communities could exist together.

What Year Two Taught Us

Rituals create belonging.

Big events create memories. Familiar spaces give people somewhere to return to.

Small groups can change the whole culture.

A guitar circle, a workshop table, or five people starting something can make belonging visible to the next fifty.

Students should be trusted to create.

The community became stronger when people could bring an idea, gather others, and shape a part of the Lounge themselves.

Growth only matters when new people can enter.

The Lounge should keep becoming larger without becoming harder to join.

Happy Second Birthday to the Community We Are Still Becoming

This year was built every time someone invited another person in, shared an idea, stayed to help, brought a skill, joined a trip, or simply returned the following week.

Thank you to everyone who helped turn Study & Chill from a room into a living part of student culture.

The full story is still being written.
