Winter day out: big ice, fresh air, easy group vibe.

The long awaited skating event ⛸⛸⛸ has reached and 👑Hochschulsport👑 is supporting us organizing a full-day ice skating trip to the Grefrath ice arena. It’s a wide open outdoor rink with space for all levels.

Thanks to the group rate, the price already includes entry + skate rental, so you don’t have to worry about equipment on site.

When

• Date: Sunday, 7 December 2025
• Time: approx. 10:00 – 18:30 (including travel and skating time)
• Price: 13,50 € (students and staff, includes entry + skate rental)

Transport options

• From Kleve: RE10 train to Kempen (near the venue)
• From Kamp-Lintfort: university bus (limited seats; details after booking)

What’s included

• Group entry to the Grefrath ice arena
• Skate rental on site (many sizes available)
• Choice of regular or hockey-style skates (often easier for beginners)
• Staff on site to help with fitting and tightening skates properly

• Sheltered rest areas to take a break from the cold
• Large open rinks for mixed skill levels from slow laps to more dynamic skating

Conditions & What to bring

• The outdoor rink is (outside ? :D) — expect cold, open-air conditions
• Wear warm layered clothing, hat, scarf and gloves (essential for falls)
• Thick socks for comfort in rental skates
• Optional: small backpack, snack, and a thermos with a warm drink
