⛵ Every five years, SAIL Amsterdam takes over the city with the world’s most beautiful tall ships, fleets, and harbor vibes — and we’re sooo planning to be there 💜 We’re taking the Study & Chill vibe to the sea. 🌊 No tickets. Just sails, sunsets, and memories.
⛵ An Unforgettable Sail into Amsterdam’s Waterfront Magic
Imagine over 50 majestic tall ships from around the globe gathering in Amsterdam’s IJ Harbour—sails drenched in color, flags fluttering in the wind, and the sound of creaky decks below as boats parade under the sunset. Light installations dance across the water, live music hums from floating stages, and the art takes the waterfront to another world.
🎨 Art & Culture on Water
Alongside the ships, expect floating installations sculpted by Dutch and international artists—giant sculptures drifting in the canal, interactive light displays, and immersive projections on sails and piers.

🚆 Travel Made Simpler (and Cheaper)
Your semester ticket covers travel up to Nijmegen and other Dutch cities. For the rest of the journey to Amsterdam, using NS trains is ideal.
NS reintroduced the Off‑peak Group Ticket (also called NS Groepsticket Daluren), valid for groups of 2‑7 traveling together. Notably:
- Groups of 7 can pay as little as **€7.15 per person** for a one-way single journey.
- Prices scale by group size — for example, €36 total for 3 people (~€12 each).
- Valid only during off-peak hours (weekdays 09:00‑16:00 & after 18:30; all day weekends).
Since we’ll be traveling as groups, this is the smartest way to split travel and still stay together in the same train. Co-travelers can join en route, as long as they stay with the main ticket holder.

- Depart Kamp-Lintfort: ~ in the morning via SB30 and RE13 to Venlo
- Arrive Amsterdam: ~2h from Venlo via NS trains
- Explore SAIL harbor + snack spots
- Return any time / optional sleepover
