2025 Weekend Trip (overnight)

A weekend that feels like a film

On Saturday–Sunday, 13–14 December 2025, we’re heading for our semester’s grand finale
— a weekend of elegant streets, Christmas lights, and café corners:

  • The icons: Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Arc de Triomphe, and Seine views
  • Hidden lanes of the Latin Quarter & vibrant Le Marais
  • Stops in Luxembourg City & an overnight in Reims, each with their own beauty

It’s art, architecture, and atmosphere
— a short escape you walk through with friends.

Luxembourg City: bridges, valleys, and layers of history

Luxembourg is a small country with a mighty past — once a fortress, now a peaceful capital built on cliffs. Its nickname, “the balcony of Europe,” comes from the Chemin de la Corniche, a walkway that reveals breathtaking views of the old city, the Grund valley, and the bridges that tie them together.

It’s a place where three languages and cultures meet — French elegance, German precision, and quiet local warmth. Stroll the stone paths once used by soldiers, now softened by ivy and cafés. You’ll feel the layers of time: medieval walls below, glass offices above, and calm river reflections in between.

  • Chemin de la Corniche: “Europe’s most beautiful balcony” with panoramic views.
  • Grund district: pastel façades and riverside calm — perfect for photos.
  • Bock Casemates: tunnels carved into the rock for defense, now open to explore.

This stop is unforgettable — sip a coffee, and stand where centuries of Europe’s borders once met.

Reims: city of kings, champagne, and cathedral light

Reims is where French history wore its crown... quite literally.
For nearly a millennium, 33 kings of France were crowned inside the majestic Notre-Dame de Reims, a Gothic masterpiece whose towers still dominate the skyline. Its carved angels smile gently from the façade, including the legendary “Smiling Angel” — a survivor of both World Wars and a symbol of peace reborn.

The city itself feels like a living cathedral — elegant, golden, and quietly proud. You’ll walk wide boulevards lined with cafés and patisseries, hear the echo of bells above the Place Royale, and smell fresh croissants from the boulangeries at dawn. In winter, the Christmas market glows around the cathedral, filling the air with cinnamon, laughter, and light. It’s the perfect overnight pause — where history rests softly and travelers breathe.

  • Notre-Dame de Reims: a UNESCO jewel and the heart of French coronations.
  • Place Drouet-d’Erlon: lively cafés and terraces under sparkling lights.
  • Reims Christmas Market: one of the most charming in northern France.
  • Champagne Houses: Reims is the capital of the world’s most famous sparkling wine.

We’ll spend the night here — time to rest, enjoy a warm dinner, or take one last evening walk beneath the cathedral’s glow. If Paris is where the heart races, Reims it smiles.

Wander ideas

  • Stand beside the Smiling Angel — the gentle guardian of Reims Cathedral.
  • Walk from the cathedral to Place Drouet-d’Erlon for dinner and lights.
  • Find a bakery early morning for pain au chocolat and quiet streets.

Did you know?

Reims’ cathedral was bombed during WWI, yet the Smiling Angel statue survived. When it was restored, it became France’s symbol of hope — proof that beauty can endure even after destruction.

Paris: la finale du semestre

Paris — the city everyone dreams of, yet it always feels new. A place where art, architecture, and daily life blur into poetry: bridges over the Seine, slate rooftops in Montmartre, quiet courtyards behind the Louvre, and cafés that turn an hour into a memory.

We’ll start together with a short orientation so you instantly feel at home. After that, the day is yours: museums, Christmas markets, vintage corners in Le Marais, the bookstalls of the river, or a single café that becomes your Paris.

And yes — we’ll share our best tips & tricks for students: easy metro choices, budget eats, photo spots, quick safety notes, and smart routes between icons. You’ll get these in our **WhatsApp group** and during the on-site orientation, so you can spend less time planning and more time wandering.

  • Trocadéro: the most cinematic Eiffel view.
  • Île de la Cité: heart of old Paris, bridges, and river light.
  • Montmartre: cobblestones, painters, and the climb to Sacré-Cœur.
  • Le Marais & Latin Quarter: boutiques, bookstores, and timeless cafés.
  • INTENSIVELY GOOD CROISSANTS!

By evening, the tower sparkles and the semester finds its full stop — together, under the lights. Not just a trip, but our finale du semestre.
